  1. Rich, vigorous, and engaging. Potential energy suggesting (signifying) kinetic energy, each piece seems frozen in time while about to perform an athletic feat, like acrobats, jugglers, strongmen, etc… in the circus. All except that small hollowed out trunk that looks cave like. It is so still and quiet, perhaps watching all the other figures. Thanks for documenting this show.

  2. A wonderful show from an Afro- American mighty master. Mr. Evans comment, “serious sculpture can’t be joyful” which is not an absolute. I take his comment to mean that sculptures expressive power as an art form resides at the tragic end of our emotional spectrum. Mr. Mosleys’ sculptures definitely have this gravitas, even with their lightness of improvisation. He states his influences are Chillida, Noguchi and Brancusi but unlike these three there is no Greek in Mr. Mosleys’ sculptures. They are more akin the the animistic spirit found in African magic totemic sculpture. He also states he is after the ”essence” of an image but exactly what these shamanistic images are he keeps us guessing. It is interesting that for years he worked in relative obscurity and relative proximity, in Pennsylvania. Like a lesser known but no lesser serious sculptor than he. An almost exact contemporary of his the metal worker Karl Stirner from Easton.
