  1. Joshs’ metaphor at the end of the video brought up an importat point about vernacular ‘ sculptural language ‘ surplanting ‘Latin sculpture language’ with historic reference. From what I remember from my study of Greek as a boy. Up until WW1 in Greece there were two syles of greek one aristocratic the other demotic. The democratic style was built on the foundation of the aristocratic and eventually replaced the aristocratic form. Where it is no.longer used in todays Greece. Could it be that these current forms that dominate the gallry world are not really vernacular as they are not shared by the general art going public. But more a form of colloquial signing of penance among a subset of the supposed privlidged. Garth Evans several comments of the sculpture appearing the work of a homeless person. This pack rat aesthtic seems to me the plaintive plea of the ahistoric and untalented for momentary attention. It’swhere large easy money and the talentless find their common interest.
